The Itinerary: 1. HALF DAY - VISIT TO FORT JESUS & MACKINON MARKET A visit to Fort Jesus which was built by the Portuguese in the 15th Century designed by an Italian architect and the Akamba wood carves, you will proceed for a tour of Mombasa passing through Mackinon Market, Singh Temple, Railway, Tusk, Akamba curio shop.
2. FULL DAY - VISIT TO FORT JESUS & MACKINON MARKET & HELLER PARK & MAMBA VILLAGE A visit to Fort Jesus which was built by the Portuguese in the 15th Century designed by an Italian architect and the Akamba wood carves, you will proceed for a tour of Mombasa passing through Mackinon Market, Singh.Temple, Railway, Tusk, Akamba curio shop.Lunch in one of the restaurant,afternoon visit to Heller Park is one of the finest examples of land reclamation successes in KenyaÂ's history. It is here where used quarries have been transformed into a natural park, today home to hippos, zebras, oryx and many other birds and reptiles and thereafter a visit to Mamba Village.
3. DHOW TOUR, SNORKELING, & EXTRA DIVING OPTION. Guests will be picked from Hotel in South Coast/North Coast.
On arrival, a classic light Swahili breakfast of traditional sweet breads & fresh fruit with Arabic coffee or Swahili tea is served down the famous Shimoni caves, a community project supported by Charlie Claw's. At 9am to catch the best tide option, board a converted authentic Lamu dhow.
In comfort depart for Kisite National Marine Park for snorkeling & dolphin spotting - 90%+ dolphin success rate ! Kisite Marine Park is the best underwater park on the Kenya Coast. Mineral water, fruits and sodas for guests on dhow are free of charge. For Snorkelers masks & snorkels, fins & and full diving gear for divers is provided. Non swimming guests can enjoy the underwater using glass bottomed viewers from the accompanying support dinghy.
Dhows sail at some point during the day - traditionally rigged it's a 'back-in-time' experience.
Scuba diving for diving enthusiasts or a fun dive for first timers are on offer at an extra cost for a fun or single dive and for a double dive at the best prices on the coast! SSI certified diving instructors supervise and offer individual assistance. Also BSAC registered. Divers are normally also joined by turtles.
LUNCH ON WASINI ISLAND AT CHARLIE CLAW'S Guests arrive on Wasini Island at approximately 1:30pm for an exotic 5-course lunch. Unlimited quality wines by the glass, beers, sodas and mineral water are included.
Bowls of marinated fish and coconut biting.Freshly prepared whole crab steamed in ginger - the famous Charlie Claw's speciality. Barbequed fish fresh from the fishermen's' baskets with Swahili,sauce, coconut rice & chapatti - a traditional Wasini Island celebration dish.Tropical fruit platter of all available exotic fruits. Arabic coffee and simsim - sesame sweets. For non-seafood eaters we prepare as an alternative to crab & fish: Fresh traditional vegetable soup followed by barbequed chicken or Swahili vegetarian.
AFTERNOON PROGRAMME Guests have the following options: Snooze on the beds under the shade in the private gardens & cool off in the Lazy Lagoon. Visit the nearby Wasini village - an authentic fishing community with Arab coastal style houses, ancient tombs and mosques .
